Tire Designations

Just as there are different sizes of cars and trucks there are different sizes of tires that belong on those vehicles from traditional radials that might belong on a small compact car to Iowa light truck tires which would be designated as "LT." Not all light truck tires are placed on actual trucks and some of them are offered as factory installed components on large vehicles like consumer SUVs. If a pair of tires isn't called "LT" it's usually designated with a "P" which stands for passenger. No matter the designation of a pair of tires, regular maintenance is necessary for all types.
