Although the economy has been going through ups and downs for several months, some key economic indicators suggest that the delinquency rate for credit cards has been on a downward trajectory. Reduced numbers of delinquencies mean that card holders are doing everything they can to improve their credit and repair credit scores that may have been damaged by unemployment or other uncontrollable economic factors. Most of 2011 has shown reductions in the number of credit card delinquencies and this is a good sign for the economy since people are attempting to make payments even though the recession has not ended.
